What Is Your Dream?
opening of the solo exhibition of paintings
Tehran, Vali Art Gallery, Friday july 25th / 4-8 pm
Artist Statement
In What Is Your Dream?, Farshad Akbari invites us to a revelatory feast on the invisible border between sleep and wakefulness—where white lines grow from the darkness like mycelial roots and become the unspoken language of dreams. By presenting natural elements such as skulls, antlers, wood, and stone, he conjures the spirit of nature within his work to reveal that every branch and every stone carries a hidden story, woven into the heart of darkness and silence.
Like an ancient shaman, Akbari lives within his dreams—bringing forth ambiguous, symbolic images from the world of sleep into wakefulness, inscribing them in white lines: lines that act as pathways of insight, and points that shine like stars in the darkness of night—guiding us toward self-discovery and the creation of a world where every silent element finds a voice and echoes in stillness.
What Is Your Dream? is an invitation to pause and look again at the darkness and light within us—and to touch the moment where dream, wakefulness, nature, and intuition dissolve into one another: a gentle journey into the deepest layers of the self.
