A Cycle of Metamorphic Sculpture-Entities

Mamadooma is a growing body of sculptural entities existing at the threshold between object, body, and memory. Rather than being conceived as fixed objects or finalized designs, these works emerge through continuous material transformation, remaining in states of becoming rather than resolution.

Within this project, metamorphosis replaces the conventional logic of recycling. Material is not returned to a previous state or reused within a circular system of repetition; instead, it follows an irreversible process of transformation. Traces of earlier material conditions remain present, yet no longer function as identifiable origins. Memory persists within matter, gradually transforming into an embodied and non-linear residue.

Material is approached not as surface, but as body. Each sculpture is constructed from a self-produced pulp composed of paper, starch, glue, chalk, glycerin, cornstarch, and acrylic pigment integrated directly into the material itself. Color is embedded within the structure rather than applied to its exterior, dissolving the distinction between surface, interior, and form.

The making process unfolds through slow manual accumulation and sustained attention. Each work begins with a simple skeletal structure and gradually develops through repeated interaction with the material. Rather than following predetermined compositions, forms emerge through an ongoing dialogue between bodily gesture, sensory perception, and the evolving behavior of the material itself.

Mamadooma extends the broader artistic practice presented throughout this website by bringing the same perceptual concerns explored through sound, painting, photography, and moving image into a physical and sculptural field.
